Product images
For the sale of products, on-line or in publications you need to have images that sell the products. This part of the website is not for clothing photo shoots, if you are looking for clothing, please see our fashion photography service.
Most product photography comes from three forms of photography and are tailored to meet certain requirements:
- Pack shots
- Product placement
- Style
Pack shots
Pack shots are images on the product in its packaging as it can be found on the shelf, this is not a shot of the product as it is on the shelf but as it is on its own, these can be styled and may differ to add the package and the content super imposed over the image to show both the packaging and the product to the client. there are many variables and combinations to this form of photography.
Product placement
For product placement photography the main aim is that the product is sold for the excitement or environment it is placed. For example:
In this image you can see a bike, helmet and gloves as well as clothing. This image may be used to sell the safety equipment, the bike or the lifestyle to the viewer of the image.
As you can see the pack shot image is less exciting to the viewer and may not sell the life style to the targeted audience.
This image may be used to promote service, sauces or herbs and may be a background image to a marketing campaign with maybe a jar or cooking sauce over the top as we have shown above.
Style
Adding style into photography is generally kept for products like the Ipod where cool is important and like sofa advertisements, they are placed in a home for the life style to be sold that is contained within the images
