Competition time

Mar 02, 2010 Posted Under: Design, Photography

NO sorry we are not holding a photography competition this time, we have decided to enter some instead.

Engineering design image concept

This image was entered into a competition to encourage  students to view the engineering that goes into the things around us and how it effects our daily lives. We mixed three areas within the image to offer  design/concept with a image of the everyday object.

What you are seeing in this image  is a steel disabled access rail against a modern building design.
The vent type covering is meant to attract the rising heat and to steel the building as a ‘Eco building’ along with a modern design finis.
We added the engineering drawing to add a engineering side  to the image. If you are an engineer you would be fully aware that the drawing is incorrect for the rail.

Corporate photography packages

Feb 03, 2010 Posted Under: Design, Photography, corporate

With the modern age and speed of today’s information a business does need to have a regular photographer if they do not have already. It is common for business to hire a photographer for certain events and times during the year, but with the constant flexibility and changes within the market its becoming more important to have a photographer around for marketing.

Businesses who are up to date understand the needs to market the business and make good use of the on-line medium, and most marketing people will tell you that for promotions, your text to image ratio needs to be around 75% and some would say 50%. Our way of thinking is that if you can get the information across in a image there is no need for text and that with the 3-5 seconds that you have to impress people to read the text, image is everything.

As I am a person that shows examples of what I am writing about, its important to make the pages stand out and my point come across such as you would in you own publications and marketing.

lets look at this product:

For many of you looking you can see speedy car which is exciting, the other not so much but do you know why? Well with out a long story on the psychology the view imagines them self in the car and it looks fast.

A company needs to have a large number of images taken per year, it includes a story of the business, what you have purchased, your new staff, research, awards facilities and lots more.

The idea of the packages is to provide a more complete service around the year with the photographer and your business.

For example, a package may include this range of photography: Products, premises, staff and facilities as well as the Christmas party.
Fashion houses or limited production may want 4 photo shoots plus a story of development following the history of the service or product development or the team behind the developments that they make to show the achivement, This encourages workers pride and self worth in the company and gives them goals to work towards.

Buying a package often means that the final price is considerably lower than having an ad hoc service and is worth considering. Simple ask us for a quote and then you can take it or leave it.

Fashion Photography Photo Shoots

In 1909, Condé Nast took over Vogue magazine and also contributed to the beginnings of fashion photography. Special emphasis was placed on staging the shots, a process first developed by Baron Adolf de Meyer, who shot his models in natural environments and poses.
Vogue
was followed by its rival, Harper’s Bazaar , and the two companies were leaders in the field of fashion photography throughout the 1920s and 1930s.
House photographers such as Edward Steichen , George Hoyningen-Huene , Horst P. Horst and Cecil Beaton transformed the genre into an outstanding art form. Europe, and especially Germany, was for a short time the leader in fashion photography.
